Post by: GlassCutter on May 19, 2008, 08:54:41 AM
I'm looking for recommendations on a boat cover.  It is a generic shape 18 ft jet and Adlee (sp) just quoted my buddy $800  :o

I had Adlee restich my cover about a month ago.  Good people and they do great work.  Back in the mid 90's they did all of the custom covers we sold at the dealer I worked for.

The lady at Adlee mentioned that it has slowed down a lot and that if she didn't own the building she would have closed a year ago.

If your in the market for a good quality custom cover, you might get it before she does close down and we loose a great part of the boating world (IMO)

Probably get sh!t for this one, Wal Mart sells boat covers for about $50 - $60 bucks, 3 year warranty, 1 year exchange warranty, I have owned several, if your're interested start taking notes, buy the cover, save the receipt, about 11 months later  >:D some of the stitching may start coming apart, take the cover the box and the receipt down to Wal Mart and get yourself a new one. What the hell, they're cheap.

I hate walmart! have one a couple of blocks from my house and I still drive further to the store! They are a joke, just about selling crap products for a cheap price with the WORST customer service anywhere!

::)  :banghead:  Yep, that didn't work. Last time the cover waited about a year and a half until it ripped like toilet paper and Wal Mart told me that I had to bring it back within a year. It's been 10 1/2 months and since it was fresh on my memory because of this thread I decided to go back and get my new cover. Nope, no way. 3 month exchange, not 12 month exchange. Bought a new cover and am going back to Wal Mart tonight to get it exchanged.

See ya' Wal Mart in a couple months? What's the alternative? $800 cover from a ma and pa shop. Yep, see ya' Wal Mart in a couple of months.

That's easy. I have bills just like everyone else.
$60 vs. $800 = loss of american jobs

I thought the only thing made in Canada were Smarties candies.   I love those things.
