Just got my new eBay marine carpet and realized I didn't buy glue ??? I've been told by a few people to just use home depot carpet glue and that it works fine. What do you guys think? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! 8)

yup. its "exterior carpet glue"and most home depots have it in the tile section for some odd reason not the carpet area. comes in a decent sized bucket. i think its like $10. get yourself a little trowel as well with like a 1/8" notch in it.

sticks *WAAAAAY* better than any 3M 90 spray adhesive and costs half as much.

That was on eBay.. any how thanks for the reply. Off to the De-Pot for me tomorrow if I can wake up at a descent time maybe I can get something done! Working these late hours really gets in the way of what I should really be doing! Lol:o

a couple spray cans of 3m super 77 its the best stuff . the prob with the gallon glue and other stuff is that if you ever need to take up the carpet you cant ! and that glue never goes away!
-
Can I offer a suggestion and recommend that use minimal amount of glue. Carpet doesnt last for ever and sh!t happens where you might want to pull the carpet up and replace it. A little glue dabbed in a few spots makes is much easier and still hold the carpet down.

Made it to where my center floor board is removable. And I wont be putting it on too thick but I want it to last.. the old carpet lasted 25+ years no joke.. my dad kept up on the boat for the most part. But you can only do so much

I just use the 3M Hi-Strength 90 spray adhesive. I've done a lot of boats and no issues. When you do change the carpet it's pretty easy to sand down and clean up for new carpet.

Got it carpeted today! Turned out great!
