 GT, are thinking about something like the fiberglass buckets that skip sells but in aluminum ?  With the small covers so the back is exposed ?  If so let me know when you figure out some prices.  Polished seats would look cool !!!

Hey proppy, that's sort of the plan, was going to try and do all custom one off type stuff, but looking at this more closely (and after spending three nights just making templates ) we have decided to get "cookie cutter" and play Henry Ford for a while...I'm thinking if we can get some interst and get some units "out the door" our survival chances have to get better, I was thinking that a few different styles to start with and build from there, a low profile style bucket is already in the works, the seats for my Carrera are somewhat a med. height almost octagonel deal, way too modern looking for your Sprint, but the low pro's will have a bit more of an "old school" feel. Hope your not offended by that....Gotta be Old School IMO.

Aren't you tired of polishing aluminum yet? I have a buddy who does the acid carbon treatment that makes them look like charcoal (dark grey) and are basically indestructable (same thing they do to those cooking pans), thought that would be a good option for the maintenance free types (obviously not you  )

The biggest issue is most of the fiberglass seats are barrel shaped (rounded), we have found this to be cost prohibitive to build...

Honestly, I have probably actually only spent two hours on my boat (gonna take 20 to finish it), I'm trying to get caught up at work before I lose two guys going to another shop  . We have been working our asses off, last week I got a couple of days off and was too tired to do crap.

I had to spend a few nights getting My Carrera interior mocked up so I can flip the boat over and fix the bottom, we call that "too damn many irons in the fire"...

I did make some progress, but would not be noticable to most people (read; did very little  )

OK GT, where are the photos?     Also, is it better the do the interior of the hull (completely) before flipping and then doing the bottom?

I haven't taken many pics yet, been too damn busy, but in answer to your question, I am fitting all of the framing pieces before gelcoat/paint for two reasons, one, theres less of a chance of scratching the hell out of something and I can figure out which holes to repair, and two, the upholstery can be getting made while I'm painting and glassing...trying to have her done by spring (May). Just want to have the framining all done and rough fitted before I get it flipped.

Your seats are AWSOME, if I could have made them work in my later model cruiser, I would have been all over those bad boys, just needed something different and couldn't find anyone to do it for less than a nut and a half....

I'm not sure I'm going to be in California for very much longer, whether it's Austin or Vegas, me and the missus are done here, now we just need to set a date, make the plans and GO!

good catch phrase shorter n sweeter would be billet butt buckets

I don't have any pictures yet, but soon, all I have done so far is build moc ups of the frames in melamine (like thin particle board) and getting the dimensions put into a CAD drawing for CNC type equipment, work in progress, well sort of.

Will post pics ASAP.
