Ive been looking for some to do my boat and Ive gotten a few bids and everybody seems to want any where from 4,000 to 5,000. Does anybody know someone that can do better then that. Its a 23ft day cruiser with cubby cabin.

Whoa... slow down there, just kidding, a friend paid $800 - he built the wood frame, the upholstory guy shaped the foam, stitched it, covered it, 4K to 5K sounds really high...

Just trying to gather imformation. That price is with building seats or some wanted to just fiberglass the old ones which I didnt like that idea. The thing is when I say it has a cubby cabin, underneath the bow theres two bench seat and a headliner to do.

deerrob, there is a guy in el monte that will do a 22ft for 1500.00 w/ floor and build seats also in industry, ca. there is garzas on valley blvd he does good work too but pricey. the first guy is on peck rd and aprox bryant a little north of bryant. good luck

Whats consider pricey I don't mind spending 3000 but at estimate of 4000 to 5000 almost makes me want to sell my boat and find a different boat. Do you have the name of the business or a phone number for either of these shops.

4 to 5 K is way too much, unless you're having it covered with rare Italian leather or something?

there is a boat interior place here by my work in whittier called mikes canvas auto and marine upholstery....free estimates...562/693-1761 does interiors and boat covers allkinds of work like that....www.mikescanvas.com...i had my work awnings patched up , great job....worth a try

Being from Alabama, I've seen a lot of things done with cars, but I've never seen seats mounted there before ::)

Im looking for the same thing, I have come across a shit load of hacks and rip off artists though, i just want some good quality work at a reasonable price.

anyone else have a place to recommend? I may be looking at opening a bow on a 29'. Right now it's closed... I'd still keep the mid cabin. Any estimates on cost or what it takes to get this done? The boat was also offered as a midcabin -so I don't think it will be a structural problem. With some help I may do the cuts/framing and send it out for upholstery. Thanks

Stay away from mikes canvas I had him quote my boat and its not cheap and he wouldnt rebuild the seats, Heres a picture of my boat after the guy from craigs list got done with it.

Where is the guy located? And what did he charge you. The seats look GREAT!!

hes located in perris ca. That was 5600 to do the whole boat and thats with all new seat frames and side panels. My boat also has two bench seats in cubby cabin too. He also fiberglassed a sub box in the nose of the boat and fiberglassed a amp rack behind one of the bench seat in the cubby cabin. The guy at mikes canvas wanted 4500 to just re uplostery the exsiting seat frames that where rooted but he said he would put fiber glass over them and boat didnt even have side panels it was just carpet so he wasnt going to do side panels.

i just went back and looked at that picture again :o thats a REALLY good job....i would expect to pay well over the amount you paid....and im sure I can only see a fraction of the detail of the work that was involved.
Post up that guys contact information....I will for sure get a quote from him when I need some stuff done.

Make sure you call him and make appointment if you want to see more of his work. His buiness and house are all on the same property. So he doesnt want people just showing up. He had my boat for month but told me straight up that if any of his mfg work brings a boat in mine would be put on hold because he doesnt want lose there work and they want there boats in a week. You wont be disappointed in his work.

Its not often you find a guy who is straight up about putting your shit on hold . I hate having to call when you dont get a call on the date your shit is supposed to be done . Just let me know whats goin on .
