Getting my newly re-covered interior back this week, And I was wondering if anything can be done to protect it from future sun damage? Does ArmorALL do anything, or just more damage than good? Also, can I just put the same sunscreen made for people people right on the seats and sundeck? Seems like some SPF 50 whould work just as well on vinyl as it does on skin. Boat is stored inside, so that is not an issue, but it will soak up a lot of sun during those long days on the river. Any ideas, or do I just need to re-do the seats evey 25 years?

If you get 25 years out of your marine vinyl, you got your monies worth! Don't use armour-all... absolute crap, it will actually dry out the marine vinyl. Also, don't use coppertone... it's for skin. I use a leather/vinyl cleaner after my boating. As for during the 120 degree days at Lake Havasu, I just keep em wiped down occasionally. I find if I fuss over them too much, you break down the stitching and end up stretching or abrading the vinyl.

Keep it clean, occasionally use a good product with UV blockers and MOST importantly cover it from the suns damaging ultra violet rays when your not boating. The reality is, even if you use products which "block" UV's direct sunlight, the sun's UV rays will eventually shorten the life span of "anything".

hot sauce marine products. they make spray for the interior and ext of the boat and the stuff works great. it has uv protectors and all that jazz in it

That 303 stuff is amazing. It's called "aerospace protectant 303". I used this stuff on spa covers when I worked for a spa company. And spa covers see alot of sun abuse. And this stuff worked great. I 100% would recommend this.
