Title: Seat Covers
Post by: JBASHAM on May 12, 2015, 09:29:38 AM
I just got a new set of fiberglass buckets and a bench, and I need pictures and/or ideas for seat covers.

The guy I got the seats from said they typically use 3" foam for the bottoms and 2" for the sides.. What I don't fully understand is if that foam is sewed into the covers or not...

I talked to a local upholstery guy who said he would have to glue the foam into the seats and upholster over them, but I don't think that's how it normally done on fiberglass buckets.

I don't need anything fancy I just need covers so I can get this thing in the water soon! What is a reasonable price for the 3 covers?

Any ideas?? Thanks guys

Do those have removable seat cushions with wood bottoms? So you can access the bolts?

I take it you just don't remove the covers ever?

I know, mine are fiberglass too. Is the bottom seat cushion separate from the rest of the cover?

Also, is the foam sewn to the inside of the covers or glued into the buckets?

This is what I'm working with...

Thanks a lot Jimpen! Could you post a pic of what they look like with the bottom cushion removed?

Awesome thank you! So I assume there's no foam glued to the bottom then, so you can access the bolts when the covers off, right?
