Hey i just bought a jet boat.1977 eliminator ss with a 460 and a berkley jet.The steering is horrible.its so stiff.what can i do? Someone told me to take the cable out and grease it then put it back in????????????

Replace the cable assembly with a new one. You don't want a repaired cable failing while running 50+ on the water!
Call Tom at Jet Boat Performance, he will get you what you need.

It depends on weather or not it's the cable that is stuck or just the dissimilar metals at the steering tube at the back of the boat (rare but does happen). If it's the tube, it can be taken apart, cleaned up and lubed then put back together, if you can't turn the wheel with one finger with the tube disconnected, replace the steering system, you wont save dick by doing just the cable....
