Needs to get seats ad wood done

Just want basic white with blue outline and thread going through the seats and I want to make the back seat longer I have sample pis I can send of another 82 bahner

I got a guy but he is in hesperia he does real good work for a low price 810 dollars for my seats and side panels

i had mine covered at erwins in long beach off of cherry blvd.

great work, but took a while.

ill be having my new boat done at A1 marine. quick turnaround but more pricey. i have my own seat bases though done in 3/4" wood... if u can build your own bases u could save yourself a little coin...

not rocket science but there are some tips... give them a strip to shoot staples into on the inside bottom. avoid sharp corners, they dont look good and can tear vinyl. thin out some resin and coat to give it some water proofing.

have you thought about converting to a bench seat in the rear with 2 buckets? passengers hated sitting in the "cocktail style" seating sideways. the bench is a much better position for people to sit in.

I do want to convert over yo a bench in the back just have never made any thing like that before and don't want to mess up

make it out of foam board and then out of wood. There's no mess up just a first atempt or I meant to do it that way so I know what not to do in the future

in the end here's my suggestion:

a1, martinez, etc do boat seats all day long. they know all the little tricks as far as cupholders, storage pockets, etc. regular upholstery shops might be cheaper, but you gotta give them *EXACTLY* what you want. i gave them pictures of the seats that i wanted and they copied the design 100%, but none of the little things i had talked about were done, such as pockets in the backs of the seats. when i finally picked them up the guy was like "heres the pic, we copied that" so i guess i couldnt really get mad at them.

If you don't mind me asking what did you pay to have yours done? I'm doing something similar to yours and doing woodwork myself just want to see how much I'll be Savin doin the woodwork myself.

$1500.00 seats, 2 front panels, 2 mid panels, 2 rear panels and 4 cup holder boxes.
The stainless bimini was another $600.00

Don't know what you save on doing the wood yourself.
The reason I do it is because I resin the crap out of it and glass all the inside and outside corners.

We too are looking for upholstery work and suggestions. Wood and foam should be fine with no configuration changes other than some upgrades for cup holders in the open bow area and perhaps replacing pockets with cubbies.

1990 Commander Open Bow configuration - I'd love to see some modern upholstery work. Seems the better prepared you are with what you want and showing examples seems to be key. Seriously considering getting rid of tuck & roll look and reduction of colors to three.

Fellow Commander, Ultra, other similar boats with fresh upholstery? Share in your success and/or horror. The search feature landed me on this thread.
