Title: Believe I found my cavitation problem
Post by: RiverRat474 on February 28, 2016, 06:26:52 AM
Pulling the pump out to paint and find out why it cavitating. The only thing I can see wrong is the hand hole cover is off a 1/4 inch. Not sure how this happened. Should I replace it or can it be fixed. Thanks

I've never seen a hand hole cover fit so deep before.  Is it a Berkeley or one of the clones?

How severe was the cavitation (just out of curiosity)?

Original berkeley 12jg. I would have to feather the throttle at take off and had a hard time keeping the pump loaded. Ran out of time yesterday, I will take off the cover later today. I've been thinking about it maybe something is cracked or broken on top I couldn't see in the dark.

Found a flat spot on one side of the impeller. Does anyone know why this would be there.
