Pump question....

Originally had a stock pump, stuffer a impeller and ride plate, jetovator. Went stainless ab cut inducer stuffer and kept everything the same. I havent ran a loader yet. My question is, it seems to run at a tad loss of seat of the pants feeling, now i felt a loss of 300 rpms wouldnt make that much of a difference and id gain a little more top end. Motors a 496 stroker aluminum heads scat internals comp cam should be making around 600 hp. Could i be causing more cavitation w the inducer? I suppose now a loader is needed?

The impeller is an a/t product. Could there be a bigger difference between a berk a and the a/t than i thought?

300 rpm is enough to drop you out of the power curve, and to keep "600" hp contained requires a loader, pretty much indisputable.

It's a new A/T aluminum impeller?  They are really a nicely shaped part.  Less cavitation is stalling your engine.  The Berkeley impellers can be made to work decent, but the A/Ts are really nice.  You may need to cut the impeller down to get your desired RPM.

I had aluminum. A impeller in there originally.  I got talked into an a/b bro. The pump feels super smooth almost like i should be pushing more water if that makes sense. Speed felt fantastic but the hard acceleration i felt w the A seems i little less. I could be tripping tho. I suppose my question should have been do an inducer and loader go hand in hand ? Could my pump not be loading as hard as it was before the inducer? I get the same rpm range out of it either way i never take my motor over 5800 because i dont like revving my motor high. My choice. Although. I could. I never had a loader in either pump to begin with.

No, the inducer has no affect on RPM.  Only the impeller changes RPM.

You said you lost 300rpm.....


I'm afraid you totally lost me.

An AB will gain rpm to an A, the AT impellers are known to load better, Ann inducer will help" the initial "hit" but it's job is all done when the boat moves forward, a loader is the obit way to properly load the pump under high hull speeds, you could throw the inducer away at that point.

Haaha apparently i am confused too man the chart read id lose a lil rpm but hey chartsarent real world gt. It just feelsa tad slower. Bit the wsy u guys are saying she should be loading harder hmm ?
