Title: Berkeley 12jg bowl removal question

Hey guys! I need to replace my bowl oil seal and was wondering if I need to take the transom adapter plate off or if there is a trick to just pulling the bowl by itself. Thanks!!

Most of the time, yes,  the TA needs to come off.
