The only thing that I know about Panther jets is that I was looking at a Tahiti to buy that had a Panther jet in it. I called a very reputable local jet boat shop and he told me to stay away from Panther jets because there are too many boats out there to pick from that have Berkeley and Dominator jets in them. Panther's have less parts out there for them. That's all I know about Panther jets.

Yes you can and you'd probably be lookin at about 5k to do all the work and thats conservative . You could probably find a boat that has the motor and pump you want and you can just repaint for about 2k .

big mike, it all depends what you as the end user wants the boat for. lets be realistic the boat is how old? it has ran like that since probably the mid 70's and i assume that it still runs? so if you want it just to cruise around and NOT race or hot rod it will serve you well. just dont expect to go over 50mph, as for the panther pump get ahold of Tom at jet boat performance there is a link on the home page. he has done a lot of work on those pumps and is verry knowledgable about those pumps.

however, you are allready talking about a motor swap and pump swap so if this is the plan DONT bye it there are much better boats allready set up with berk's and big blocks. just my .02

Did you see the biesmeyer in the project boat section . He has everything to get on the water . A little bit of wood work , and enough room for the entire family . Cheap too.
