Berkeley Nozzle O RIng

Hi guys,

I have my pump apart fixing the blown out bowl gasket and I noticed that the nozzle does not have an O ring where it goes into the bowl. It is a 1972 Berkeley 12JC-A, was the O ring an added feature later in production?

Found the info, my nozzle is part # L-2847, there is another part # L-4405 that has the O ring that seals to the bowl.

Mine isn't worn bad at all, the boat has low hours. How much speed could I be leaving on the table?

Is it spraying water around the nozzle? If not, I wouldn't worry about it.

On the other hand, the old style nozzle with the grappling hook style reverse shoot, dragging through the water, would be scrubbing off your speed.

There is quite a difference with the Place nozzle. There is some spray, but its not bad. I am fighting a bad porpoise just after I get up on plane so I have been looking hard at a Place Diverter.

It's laid up for the winter now for some floor repairs and other stuff.
