Title: Berkeley or Jacuzzi pump??
Post by: diesel_lv on April 11, 2012, 07:46:44 PM
I just bought a 2nd boat for parts. It's a 74 Glen Coe 21'. Has a 455olds and a Jacuzzi pump w trim. The hull has no interior and the floor flexes under foot real bad. Where the exhaust comes out the transom there is daylight. I originally bought it just for the engine to put in my '76 19' shallow V. This one has a Berkeley pump. My question is should I swap just engine, or the jets also?

If it's a Jacuzzi with a trim unit it's probably a YJ model (less desireable).  Run the Berk.

Pics would be helpful on I.D'ing the Jacuzzi and Berk pumps
Berk has more off the shelf parts available for it
Definitly pull the Jacuzzi pump, somebody always needs parts
My WJ has a place diverter on it, early style
