I just got the boat back after having the intake reinstalled , got the pump back in and when I went install the transom housing the bolt holes are not lining up what I have noticed is the bottom of the housing is hitting on the intake grate, any suggestions would be helpful , should I just drill new holes or grind the inside of the housing and the intake ? The existing holes are off by about a 1/4 "

no dont drill new holes, contact whoever you had install the intake and tell them what is going on. they may have moved the intake. but make sure first!

FYI, I had did have the intake cut for a shoe and ride plate , there wasn't supposed to be any setback and when I put the housing on it is hitting the bottom of the intake not the back just the bottom

I'm thinking they might have installed the intake at a different angle than it was originally. But pics are going to be required for this thread.

Ok here are the picture as requested , I did take some measurements and everything seem the same on both side of the intake hope this helps , if you need more info let me know at this point I'm up for trying anything already missed a lot of time on the water and the Wifey is not happy with me!!!! : :screwy:

IMHO looking at your pictures, that intake is set WAAAAAYYYY too deep.... :thumbdown:

GS marine and they had it for almost 8 weeks after 6 weeks I finally had to go over and rattle the cage

Looking at this one also makes me believe that your T/A didn't fit for beans at the beginning...
That shoe and loader are going to dig like a potato farmer... :screwy:

I would re drill the holes plugging all the old ones with some Marine Tex. It may be an optical illusion but that thing looks to be 3/4" deep....
GS normally does spot on work, I have been dealing with Greg for over 20 years. It would surprise me in a major way if it is not correct.
The screw holes were never filled, the job IMHO looks a little sloppy. It looks as though your T/A was too high to start with. The bottom two holes should have flat head wood screws, everything else should be through-bolted.
Good luck, I think you need to cut the loader down, but again, could be these old eyes playing with me.

Just for kicks... How is the rideplate supposed to fit with a semi rounded keel? Some serious grinding needs to take place it would seem.

I was a little disappointed it took so long he has always provided me with great advice and he has done a lot of work on boat already , I just got hung on this one issue , I'll give him a call Monday hopefully he can provide a fix

Just for kicks... How is the rideplate supposed to fit with a semi rounded keel? Some serious grinding needs to take place it would seem.
When I put my bolt on shoe/plate...had to grind down a bit(like 3/8)to get plate to max at 4 degrees up. I ended up with 3 in the end but have a tad bit of room just in case.

I not having the issue with the shoe or ride plate haven't got to installing still trying to get the housing on back in the pre-existing holes the bottom of the intake is hitting the inside of the transom housing I have taken the back bolts out and that helped a little and I have been able to see where it is rubbing on the housing and it is around the corners

Seems to me you might need to grind a spot for a oil drain line as well...had to do that on mine. How is the trans cover in relation to bowl when on. If your equally spaced around bowl and it doesn't hit pump intake but the holes dont line up....redrill some new ones and fill the others but I would make sure its set right first.

So hears is a update , I called this morning and was told just to drill new holes because the intake was reinstalled

So where does that leave the biting edge of your shoe?

Same thing happened when u did mine because the intake was in at 3 degrees and we changed it to 4. Just re drill. Check the degree of where it is installed now. Call them and ask what it was before.

I had to grind both corners of my transom adaptor because it hung down below the keel
