Nope. Just something to hang below the hull and break in the shallows. The large rudder I had helped a little when idling around but nothing exciting.

Want to make a difference then add a turn fin to the hull and a diverter rudder. t

when I had Tim Place put my place diverter on he threw in a small rudder.  I didn't notice a difference.  but I do have a polished shiny rudder!!!

I want to say they were intended for slow/no wake zone use...
Even still, the whole principle of a jet is for it to maneuver around via thrust, not a rudder.

I had a large rudder on before I put a diverter on, and it was straight as an arrow at slow speeds. Now it does the normal "S"ing all over the place. I have thought about putting another rudder on but just haven't yet.

At speed is makes no difference, it is for idle or low speed control.

Yeah see thats the problem I have with mine, at low speeds its a pain in the ass maneuver in a hard current and when there is lots of other boats around. It would be nice to have something that actually turns the boat as I turn the wheel.

Throttle....
In the current around other boats is very tricky.
Practice practice practice.

Lol yeah I'm slowly figuring that out! I've had 3 other jets none had rudders but for some reason this one is squirrelly as hell compared to them

Unlike everybody else mine makes a huge differance, slow and at speed. My boat will turn without throttle. The hull is a deep v cruiser - not a flatty by any means. As my wife and daughter drive it all the time - it works well for me.

Its funny i allways looked at mine as more of an i sore! however the last time i was at a lake , my rudder saved my boat from getting bashed on the rocks!!!  im going to keep mine where it is!

Nope! No difference in mine in no wake zone with or without. I have a Berk pump. Works for leveyjoel but his is not the norm set up.

I had one on a previous boat (21 shockwave) I thought it was a little difficult to turn while cruising. My 21 ultra doesn't have one and it doesn't seem to have that issue. I also haven't noticed any handling difference while at idle.
