I think that I might have a cavatation problem talking to "Flytime". I think that i have a solution that might fix the problem. I was thinking that the hand hole, inspection cover, is where the cavatation happens, because of the sharp angles and high point of the pump. I think that you could relieve the air that would be trapped up in that area of the pump, by drilling and tapping a hole in the top cover and using a one way check valve. The check valve would allow that high pressure air that is stuck up in the top of the pump at the hand hole, to be pushed out with the incoming water pressure. You would lose alittle water pressure but if you make the hole small enough like a 1/4" tube that you run through the back of the boat, you would never notice the drop in pressure at the pump. When you get off the throttle and shut the boat off, air will not suck back thru the check valve sort of making a vacuum in the pump. Let me know if anyone has ever heard of something like this or even if im on the right track, with the cavatation.

With as many mild to very serious performance jet boats that are out there without this type of retrofit I don't think it is necessary.
What is the issue that is making you/Flytime think there is a cavatation problem?

That, and they make a handhole cover for Bazerklys that fills the entire hanhole and make that upper part of the pump super smooth, there is a little bit of grinding and sanding involved but not too bad. Mine was from GTH pump parts (I have them in two out of three pumps and seem to make a small diference). If your boat has a droop snoot, they can get "airbound" very easy, my little trick I learned early on is to back the boat into the water running, it seems to purge the air out all in one shot.
Also the wrong loader could cause a wicked cavitation as well.

Beave air locks and problems related such as cleanout "shock loading, blown covers etc" dont often occur on jets like this , air trapped momentarrily in this area does happen on initial launch with droops and with reverse bucket closed etc but IMO wouldnt cause significant cavitation (as I percieve it .) The "burp valve (out there for 15 to 50 bucks) aids in that situation . Maybe describe what exactly your experiencing ? and as much info as possible re the surrounding conditions .
Gt is righ btw we (and others) sell a nice H'hole that fills up the entire void ,requires some minor grinding and is much stronger than stock and actually cheap compared to a new OEM
