hey fellas still learing the ins and outs of these pumps ive had the boat out many many times this season with minimal problems and this last weekend made many passes few good hours on the boat beached up grilled sum burgers yada yada got back on the boat and it wouldnt "go" the boat would kinda pull at 1500-2000 rpm but if u gas it over 2000 rpm the boat would shake real bad like something was out of balance in the pump and rev real high like it wasnt even suckin water or a slipping "transmission per say" this exact thing happened earlier in the season first thought was I sucked sum trash in the pump so I loaded the boat pulled inspection plate there was nothing in there that j could see looked up the intake nothing my eye could see out of ordinary? put boat back in same thing so I cruzed round bout 1500 rpm thinkin it might spit something out finally after bout 20 min sounded like the pump "coughed or spit"  then took off like bat out of hell and didnt have problem for the rest of the day this is second time this season this has happened exact same both times rev high boat shakes the pump coughes and goes have no clue whats goin on hopin my pump isnt trashed but when its workin pump works and acts flawless any ideas or help would be great hopin I can make it thru the summer pump is an energized YJ A impeller 468 chevy thanx guys socal rox

thanx horizon thats what I was thinkin but couldnt see anything is it possible there was trash in between my impeller and bowl viens that couldnt be seen causing this? when I removed my inspection plate there was a tiny lil twig in there very small twig nothing that could cause my problem so that is for sure how a pump acts when it has sucked up piece of debris? thanx guys im worry wort freakin out cause I got fresh pump

I had a similar problem few weeks ago.... Was following a buddy into a sandbar we both hit bottom killed the motor immediately ! Obviously the water was a little more shallow than we expected.... Got the boat to shore reached through the intake felt nothing so I fired the boat up and was doing the same thing your explaining, vibration, very little acceleration. I limped it back down river got it on trailer pulled the nozzle and snoot off and ran a piece of copper wire through each vain in the bowl. Seemed to go through but got stuck a bit on one vain particular. Wasn't sure If I pulled the bowl id find anything.... Sure enough fucking ROCK stuck in one vain made all the problems.  Put it all back together, surprisingly no major damage anywhere, sure could use a clean up but nothing that kept me from going back on the water Sunday morning when the silicone dried 👍it was all good. Rookie mistake live and Learn ! Wasn't too bad pulling apart either in fact it's actually sealed up way better than before also. Hope this helps

thanx miller im thinkin thats exactly what happen to me it happened after the boat was beached in a spot I prob shouldnt have beached at  bunch o twigs and shit stickin out the water luckily it spit out whatever was in there without removing the bowl I will be sure and push the boat off beach real good before I hit the key I think I started it in super shallow water on beach and sucked something up its amazing what a lil piece of debris will have such drastic affects to the pump that sux bout that sandbar u hit luckily no major damage! and I always turn the perko OFF when I do anything near the pump thanx a mill guys I knew it wasnt major but the boat sure acted like it had major problem! crazy
