I recently added a droop to my WJ. I mocked it up last week and ran into a bit of a snag. The forward/reverse cable is smaller than the opening on the PD bracket. The PD is a FTN version. When I think about it my previous WJ diverter had a set screw that went into the PD bracket to hold the cable in there snuggly. This bracket seems not to have one. This is my first time dealing with a Berkeley style PD. Am I missing some hardware here? Pics would be appreciated of your set up. I am thinking a reducer grommet can be put in there but I’m not sure how safe that is.

On my WJ place diverter, the fwd/rev bracet is a "U" bolt? bracket? double nutted on the diverter bracket, and takes the same size cable as my berk diverter (~1/2" or so) The WJ cable looks longer after the mounting threads than a berk. pics in a few...

Hmmm it seems as if your cable is thicker. Did the WJ use different F/R cables as opposed to Berkeley?
Would a grommet work here?

Mine look similar.(to each other)
Whats the dia. of the threaded end? or is there a threaded end? (cable housing at diverter)
I think the "handle" end used a 2-bolt hold down. more pics of the orig. setup & cable end would be helpful

No don't do that, This ain't an airplane......
The end of your cable sheath SHOULD have threads on it for the capture nuts on your steering arm (43C cable if I'm not mistaken). The cable you have in there looks like a throttle cable to me, so yeah, wrong cable........ :thumbup:

Here's pics of when the WJ diverter was on there. Notice there are no nuts on either end but a set screw that goes into the arm to secure the cable. (pay no attention to the red circles)
The number on the cable is D32377-003-0156.0. I'm guessing the 0156 is just length.

It seems as if the cable is a 33c according to that number. who wants to trade? 33C for a 43C?
I dont think there is a safe way to make this work. Does that mean I have to change my thu thrsom adapter for that cable?

Wj and Yj Jacuzzi's used the smaller 33 series fwd rev cable , Place designed the WJ diverters to "retro" fit the jet and re use the original Fwd Rev cables the diverter pictured is made to use a 43 BC (bc= bulkhead conn) so you have 3 choices , the "Janky" hose clamp deal :screwy: , upgrade thre cable to a 43 Bc (requires a piece @ the shifter) or we sell a small billet cable adaptor that will pass thru the large hole and facilitate the 33 cable (very clean) Call if you need help Tom
