I know how to fill, I was just wondering if any one knew about how much it takes to fill it?  Thanks for the reply, though.  :)

One of the plugs is higher than the other . Pump it into the hole that is higher. As the bowl fills , it will start to come out the hole that is lower . I personally pump oil into it till all the crappy oil is pumped out and good clean oil is coming out .

No crappy oil or nothing in this one.  I've gone completely through the pump and all but the cast parts are new.

Shoot oil into it till it starts to come out the lower of the two plug holes. Thats it . Its less than a quart . The cavity in there is very small.

Thanks BJ,  I just needed some idea so I wouldn't make too big a mess all over the place.   ;D  I picked up some Valvoline 80w-90 Synth-blended gear oil,  Think that will be ok?  It's suppose to be a high performance oil.

I have one of those oilers that you pump with your thumb . I pump oil in it till all the nasty oil is out and clean oil begins to show .

It does to me . it's a very small cavity.

When I took this one apart, there was a teaspoon full of water and sand mix.  The seals were shot as were the bushings.

Maybe someone can figure it out but , the pump that was in my Hallett made a humming sound on and off , on and off , on and off. The motor idled at like 500 rpm's and I figured the impellor wasn't making enough thrust at that rpm to keep the tail end of the shaft in line and the impellor was wobbling inside the wear ring . Thus opening up the seal in the bowl . Turns out the bushings in the bowl were shot .

Oh well, everything inside my pump is new now.  I guess I'll be able to see how a new pump runs.  By the way, I have no leaks after adding the new oil.  So far so good.  :D

I don't know about a berserkly pump but a panther.......THE DRIVE TAKES 3 OZs OF 90 WEIGHT GEARBOX OIL. DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC AS THE
BEARING MANUFACTURER DOES NOT RECOMMEND IT. IF YOU CAN'T FIND STRAIGHT 90
WEIGHT THEN A MULTI-VISCOSITY OIL LIKE 80-85-90 WILL WORK FINE. USE AN OIL
SYRINGE TO REMOVE OLD OIL FROM JET. DO NOT OVERFILL . OVERFILLING COULD
CAUSE FAILURE OF THE SEALS.  CHANGE OIL EVERY 25 HOURS OF USE. ::)

Oh, I plan on it until I'm sure everything is sealed up.  Also, checked with Berkeley and the Valvoline Synthetic blended 80w-90 oil is just fine.
