Do you have the pump apart?

That could be caused by excessive bearing wear.  Two other areas of concern would be: 1. The inner race has lost press on the shaft.  2. The bearing cap isn't properly capturing the outer race in the suction housing.

Axial movement could allow the impeller to wear into the suction housing and/or bind the drive line, destroying the engine crankshaft and thrust bearing.

no i pulled the drive shaft so i didnt have to worry about burning up the pump so i can get the motor running good, then bam.
