So I understand the concept behind them but why so many different options?

So I understand the concept behind them but why so many different options?

I am not going to go all in right now, but just wanted to do a little paraphrasing.

Deep droop (aka full droop) lowers the thrust height to assist high HP jets get some lift, virtually in the same way a Vee Drive does... They require more than just a stock big block to get them to work, but work they do.

The less aggressive mini droops do the same thing as a full droop but with a smaller bite, making them a good choice if you have limited HP (going to say in the 500 HP range for a 19' boat) but the hull rides too wet and leaving too much on the table.

The straights are typically used to make the boat act longer, can enhance high speed handling and also improve the hole shot, think about it like this. As the throttle is hammered, the bow will rise, the nozzle then goes deeper under water than would a stock nozzle and thus creating a bit more lift due to the temporarily lowered thrust height and angle.

It is my humble opinion that if you are dealing with "stock" hp (275-400) the gains or benefits cannot be fully realized. It is not until the boat has enough HP and speed that these enhancements really begin to shine. I guess a little like putting drag slicks on your Yugo.... :sly:
