Title: Droop and ride plate combo?
Post by: Outlawmayhem on March 04, 2016, 09:22:33 PM
Okay so I'm picking up a split bowl for the jc on my miller.  Was looking at droop snoots and found one with a ride plate attached.  Is this worth it? I know it's not a full true ride plate but would it make a difference on my boat with a basically stock motor.

I was looking at running the droop with the plate with a hyd diverter and maybe a bowl stuffer.

The answers that you will get from those more versed on the subject will be interesting. I have the same set up that you're looking at. I haven't tried mine yet still building the motor.

Yeah pretty much wanna see if it's even worth the purchase.  Maybe I'll just run the droop and see how I like it first and decide from there if I want to add the little ride plate

I went w/ P.D. droop and ride plate with FTN nozzle diverter. Should lift her butt up,some. We'll see shortly.

Should have some water in these lakes, rainy right now,all night!

That looks clean.  I'm going to be putting a fresh pump on mine when I replace the motor.  I was going to do it now but Im afraid the new pump might be too tight for the motor and since I don't know the history of the motor in the boat now I'm sticking with what I have.  Gonna see what itll do with the engine tuned properly then again with the pump upgrades.  In thinking I should put a stuffer plate in while I have it all apart.

I run a droop and ride plate on my miller works perfect. Only pic I had of pump sorry it's not the best.

I'm just in the process of installing the same set up on my 76 hornet the hull is light so I hope It gets the hull out of the water and picks up some mph.  65 off the bottle now so hopefully 70 with the new combo and a 125 shot.

You have a true ride plate there.

The placediverter ride plate will definitely gain a few mph. 👍🏻 in the long run, a real ride plate and shoe will out perform the PD set up.

I agree with that.  I would do the real ride plate and shoe later on when I change the jet out.

All boats are goin to dig certain setups. Test and tune baby. Try it all and see what she likes. Kinda like a woman. Lol

The place diverter droop and ride plate are a great purchase. Lots of people have them and live them. They work very well but are not as good or tune able as a true ride plate and shoe

But for the money and ease of installation they are perfect.
