Title: droop question

guys with droops, i need your help. i have this droop and it has a nice fit in most of the travel but off of the boat seems to have to much play at extreme left and extreme right - is this normal or bad casting? see the arrows in the pics.

I have never seen one not do that.....

I have used bolts to limit the travel to keep from blowing the O ring....

I do not think yours is unusual.

You can also play around with the cable throw to limit it, but too damn much work for me... :screwy:

Thanks GT Jets. I was hoping for that feedback ;D I hadn't put on the boat yet and wasn't sure it would travel that far. I will keep your suggestions in mind when I do install.

This is common on some droops and Berk bowls/nozzle adaptors for example particularly early generation C bowls etc it can also be dangerous from the standpoint it can "lock" your steering up simply create "steering stops" on nozzle in the areas you indicated useing 1/4 20 stainless allen heads (requires drill and tap) to limit the toatl R&L travel, the amount you reduce should not significantly affect your turning ability when done correctly Yours looks to be a Dominator droop incidentally and may actually have a slightly larger opening originally designed for thier steer nozzle and not for Place diverter call if you need help Tom

i was under the impression that the droop was for A/T to Berk but your saying it may not be or that berk inside diameter may not match the same as the Place diverter diameter. i will look for P/N's to see if it's for their (A/T) nozzle.
