Are Berkeley Droops universal and how you know if you need a full droop or mini droop?

What are you trying to accomplish by either one? Looks like you have a JE pump, and cannot add a droop unless you're able to swap out your bowl to a split JG or newer JE (looking at the pic from Berkeley site) https://www.berkeleyjet.com

To install a drop you have to have a split bowl...a full droop lowers the thrust line relative to the keel and also have a 8 degree up angle lift..the mini droop hph lowers it about a half a inch then stock and has a 3.5 degree of lift

Just want to build the jet some and make sure the jet stays in the water. I guess I should start with doing the inpeler and may add a inducer? I am new to the jet boat seen so don't really know. I just rebuilt the motor so figured that be next

Not sure what you mean by the jet staying in the water. If the boat is hooking up good (not caveating or vibrating a lot when you hit the throttle) enjoy the boat till the pump needs a rebuild. But if is caveating then, tighten up the pump (rebuild) and by adding a inducer the shaft will need some machine work done. Its all going to determine what you're using the boat for, and how many ponies you have for correct impeller size. The inducer will help load the pump getting on the throttle, skiing, and tubing but no real performance gains on the top end.

Yeah if your pump aint slipping yet run it....with your new engine check your rpms at cruise and wot...run a few times and if you notice the rpms going higher to achieve the same mph refresh the pump...or if your at low mph and throttle down and it starts slipping the for sure rebuild asap or just baby it....i ran the jacuzzi i have till it gave me a reason to convert it to aggressor/xlerator kit from JBP. It started slipping on me a little last year and i was easy on it. Then at the event in August i would throttle down and the pump just could not keep up with the engine...almost like worn out transmission falling to grab a gear...

Thanks a lot guys. The boat is new to me so gotta work out the bugs. I qill see what she does and go from there. I was looking to get some more top end on it. On the rebuild i am sitting around 535 to 550 hp and am pretty sure the jet is a stock set up. I have heard that you use a droop to keep the jet lower in the water lol. It going to Menace Marine beginning of this coming month to tune her up then the water. I will watch to see if it vibrates when i throttle down. Motor is balanced so that will leave the jet. Thanks again guys and any info helps.Hope to see some you guys out there this year.
