Why can't you buy a electric Jet O Vator control? Or can you....
-
Had one on my old Eliminator. The motor was a 70's Cadillac electric window opener, I know this because it went bad and I had to replace the motor. I don't have a pic, but I'm sure someone here probably has one.
It was in a white box labeled Jetovator, large threaded rod thats spins both ways with stop switches on both ends and a piece that moves back and forth pushing jet up and down.

;D sweet so i wasn't crazy putting a linear actuator on it then. i did some looking and found that the cable only needs to move 3 inches, so made a mount and wired up two relays and a switch, Boom working Jet o Vator for 1/4 of the cost

Let's see the pic! I'm curious how you did this from scratch.

Me too! NO, I only have a few assorted Jetovater parts any more. The rest (motors, etc) is long gone.
