Title: Engine set back
Post by: greg502 on May 01, 2013, 08:33:35 PM
I've got  an older Hawaiin jet boat that I am doing a Berkeley swap from a Panther. It's an 18 foot with a Chevy 502, I want to move the motor 4 inches back, so I can have the inspection cover on the outside for convinience! Would you think that would imbalance the boat ? I know it would set lower in the back, or leave it and run it with a longer drive line?

I've heard it should benefit any jet, might need to add cav plates. Most people just buy a boat that is already set back.
