i have a berkley JG pump and we noticed that it was leaking at one of the eight big bolts that thread into the bowl. we tried to put silicon around the bot thinking it was coming through the threads but it leaked right away. i was wondering if that sounds like a seal or cracked bowl? I have it torn down to that point so far, and I were wondering if i should keep tearing it down? This is the first pump i have gone through and don't know all that much i would appreciate any help. thanks

Regarding your leak chances are its not really coming from the bowl bolt but rather the  bowl gasket the seals between the bowl and suction piece they shrink and crack over time (this has been our experience) If you need help in further diagnosis call the shop for Josh or myself were all to happy to help Tom 805 466 4719  or call my cell 975 5155

Thanks for the welcome and the replies guys.  I pulled the bowl off and it doesn't looked cracked.  The seal is fried so I think that's the problem.  My impellor looks pretty beat.  There is a chunk the size of a quarter missing out of the trailing edge of one of the blades.  I'm assuming this is bad?  It's an aluminum a cut impellor.  The pump is actually a 12JB-A-SS but no more stainless impellor.  Can you have the impellors repaired or do you have to buy new?
