OK guys it seems I need some schooling on how to remove the pump from my Sanger. How do I go about doing this? It looks to me like I am going to have to pull the motor to do this.

yes you have a 3 point mount so the bellhousing sits on the pump. might be able to do it by just taking the bell housing off but it would be easier to do with the motor out

to try to just pull the bell housing is almost impossible to do space wise. i am moe concerned on how to i get the driveline disconnected is it easier to pull it off from the flex plate or??????

it slides off the pump shaft. when you pull the motor pull it forward and it will come off. that is the way i do it in my boat (same kind of bell housing)

Unfortunatley unless its been modified you'll have to loosen and pull the motor including the B'hsg clamp that surrounds the pump snout (the Driveline will stay on the engine and slip off the jet pump shaft) , the Sanger design regarding thier unique transom ring dictates that the jet drive comes out forward vs most Berk jets which pull out the back , cant see the transom but suspect you'll find a slim polished ring surrounding the bowl on the outside , this ring needs to be pulled and removed then unbolt the jet suction housing from the intake to pull the jet forward up and out call if you need help Tom

And yes it has the ring and I figured it gad to be pulled anyway, I also plan on splitting the bowl from the suction housing prior to trying to remove the pump. No need to split the bowl from the suction housing...It will wiggle right out of there once the ring and all the bolts are out. Unless you are worried about the weight of the pump when getting it out of the boat I wouldnt split it up.
