I have only seen one other boat with this type of steering/jetavator setup. Is this combo steering/jetavator cable any good, or should i look at going with the normal three cable setup?
-
Never heard of are seen a three cable setup? somebody school me on this GT where you at,you should only have two one for steering and one for diverter, wheres the third one go?
-
I said three as for one for the steering, one for the diverter and one for the fwd/reverse. sorry for the confusion
-
What you have there is a Berk JC with a Jetavator. A Place Diverter is a cleaner/easier piece of equipment.
-
Good call Crew ! The Jet O Vator , is a decent piece when all there and working right , I like to compare it (the JetO vator) to a Place diverter with the annalogy of a Muzzle loader to and AR 15 The both shoot just one is a smidge more modern and efficiant Tom

We see them go for "bank" $400 ish on CL and Ebay , do the next guy a "solid" thought give him ALL the pieces (odds and ends) that make it work anything missing will be a nightmare as most everything is obsolete !
ig Guy sorry for the thread "departure" ;)

If I'm reading right ? the Jet o Vater uses a standard steering cable and the shifter cable parralels it and "hitches" a hookup right at the inner steer tube area at the left upper corner of the transom adaptor It is in reality two seperate cables A standar steer cable and a 43 series cable for the shifter Tom

Chaz, that is what mine looks like, do you like that setup? I really havent seen too many like this so i didnt know how reliable or easy it is to maintain. Thanks guys for all the input.
-
I've got a complete Jet-O-Vator that I took off my JC pump, if anyone is interested. Cables, and manual control.
-
I am looking to switch to a place divertor actually. It is OK, does not make a rooster tail, but it will keep the bow down. Maintainance has consisted of replacing the nylon o rings.
-
thanks for the reply chaz, i think i need to replace my orings on mine as well. who has a good price on new rings? Thanks guys for all your help.
