Title: help wtf is this on my pump shaft

As the title says what the hell is this on my pump shaft, i'm replacing my bowl gasket and this stuff is all wrapped up init.. Its like a cross between sea grass and fishing line..  :banghead:

lol, well is it suposed to be there??? this is the first time iv even looked inside of a jet pump.. do u think it adds horspower?? >:D jk

clearly your ski rope seal has broken.  id wrap a new ski rope around that shaft pronto before your hp's leak...

Oh for sure... Once that HP leaks from the shaft you are screwed. It will leak every where and eventually you will end up replacing you header bearings. Big coin
