Title: How is the Berkeley 12j3v
Post by: jeffreydoctor on January 30, 2007, 07:47:13 PM
What is one of these jets worth? There is one here in Bezerkely and they are asking for best offer. I am thinking of buying and maybe rebuilding it. Are they good jets?

What are some bad jets that I should stay away from?

Thanks

The only jet I've heard bad stories of (from a jet boat pro builder) is to stay away from Panther pumps. Weaker and less parts are available.

Of course stay away from Panther. I have two boats with them.   O0

I have never heard of a 12j3v. That is a very odd model number.

they are usually named 12-JC, 12-JE, 12-JF, 12-JG....

I assume you meant 12-JE  ???

From what I have learned, there isnt a bad berk pump, just some are better for certain applications.

Definitely an oddball. Looks to be in a big wood cruiser. Some parts may fit the more common/conventional Berk pumps. If you have a jet boat and are looking for a pump to rebuild for it....this isn't what you want.
