Sorry yeah meant change to a G bowl. I just bought it acouple weeks ago only had it out once & it rode good. Not sure yet were it rides in water next time I will get the wife to take a pic. He was saying doing those up grades would possibly get me to 74 mph.
I doubt seriously a droop would be worth nearly 5 mph. 2 maybe. It could effect the ride of that hull with a JE pump. Besides that, it's quite a lot of work for 2mph, not to mention the cost. All depends on how much dollars per hour you want to go I guess.
Looking at your set up you're going to need to make new hydro lines, the droop, the bowl, steering extension among other incidentals, rough math, you'll be in it just a touch under $1000.
I don't see it. If you lose the ride quality, you made a big step backwards.
If you had 600 hp estimated, I'd say go for it. But with slightly more than a stock 454, I don't feel you can muster the Wheaties to make the droop work to its full potential.
I could be totally wrong, but will stick my neck out to call BS on the 5mph.
