okay so i want to go with a split bowl but im not sure what my best option is...i can get a factory berkeley bowl that has had a little work done to it for about 400 bucks...or i can get an all stock dominator bowl for 200 bucks. help me out...should i buy the berk or the dom. or are they both garbage??? the first 2 pix are the dom the second 2 are the berk
i know that the parts are a little different between the two of them but im sure tom can get me the right stuff...
what are your takes????
this is the last damn thing i need to buy so i can send all my shit off to the powdercoater.

IMHO The Dominator is a better piece, just my .02c

X2, But I'd call Tom at JBP first if that's what you really want. There's inexpensive and then there's cheap, the two are not interchangeable.
IOW, there is no Santy Claus!!

IMO, a Berk bowl for $400, should be plated lor something! I've shopped these things for 4 months now.

If my memory serves me correctly, that Dominator came out of the Record 7 boat that Sam (ste) here on the boards bought from Rod. Rod is pretty good about disclosing any problems or defects. I would just e-mail him to be sure there are no issues as far as he can see.
-
both these pumps were found on the net....not on this site.

Rod is no longer a member of this site, but I thought I saw it on e-bay yesterday. Seller is hotrod from El Cajon

ok well lets pretend i scratch both of em.....what is a better bowl to buy. money is not an issue so to speak but i dont want to spend more thats necessary. what about the a.t. bowl that tom sells...the high flow one....its 595 new. i would much rather spend 200 bucks but if the benefit is going to be that dramatic i will spend the money.
that is correct then...same bowl...
would you guys run the dom over the berk....is my thinking correct when i say that i will need a different kind of wear ring...im doing a new impelller so it doesnt matter....i just want to make sure i get the right one.
-
I'm not 100% sure on this but if I remember right there are 2 different Dominator bowls, (early and late) the early ones have a smaller diameter on the exit side and don't flow as well as the newer ones without some work.
-
propless you nailed it on the head...i spent hours looking into it and found that out last night. thanks for all the replies. im either going with the c split bowl tow makes or the at upgrade bowl

Just for S's and G's I Thought I'd post up what I recieved yesterday , This guy contacted me last week from Texas for info on my bowl stuffer and installation Tech (regardless of where you buy parts we will still help you!) , he bought the following elsewhere: #1, "Race prepped split bowl" $900 , #2 ,tool kit $250 and #3 pump o'haul kit $425 his net to do the work himself $1575 (without the stuffer) He sent all back with the exception of the bowl and the jet and "bowl" arrived yesterday for some of Josh's pump finese' We will completely blueprint this jet (lathe and mill work included) and install our Billet stuffer The labor will be what he originally paid for the tool kit he sent back for credit . Heres the $900 bowl (not ours) Tom

Tom, I may be missing something huge and I apologise if I am, what makes "that" bowl worth $900? I know he didn't get it from you, but that looks like an off the shelf, stock POS...
One more question, the last three pumps I have completely built, I have had the bowls Extrude Honed in L.A., do you recomend this?, It really seams to make a giant difference.
Thanks!
