I am new to this jet world hoping someone2 can shed some light, 1st in my photos is this bowl the new or old type, 2nd I can not get that impeller but off ! 3rd looking at the wear ring the best i can it show heavy scaring. 4th there is some play in the shaft I would think there would always be some but the bushing in the bowl keeps everything a ok? I welcome any thoughts on what happened and how to get this nut off.

1. Looks like the old style. Water lubed bushings and smaller exit opening would determine the early style.

2. I used a large pry bar in the u-joints up against the stringers to hold the shaft from turning.

3. From that pic, you cannot yet see the wear ring. Needs to come apart.

4. Better to check 'play' with the bowl on, thru the clean out access hole.

So I cut the nut, cut the shaft and guess what that impeller was not a coming off! All ok I was planning on a complete build of the pump anyhow.
