your mechanical seal is leaking.

Most likely that's it. Not much too the Jacuzzi pump, the seal has a ceramic piece that can get damaged pretty easy. You could also have o-ring damage but either way it requires disassembly. Just went through this on the same pump, Chris @ B1 Racing helped me locate parts for mine.

Lame.  I just ordered one yesterday. 

Usually they require removal from the boat. The pump shaft will be removed on the main bearing side so your engine will most likely be in the way.  You will also need a set of big snap ring pliers to remove the seal along with an impeller socket of course. You can consider it almost a complete tear down to get the seals out.

It's not that big of a deal so don't stress over it too much. Just make sure not to damage the new seals on installation and double check your impeller clearance on reassembly. Take pics before tear down if you need to, American Turbine or CP Performance has parts diagrams for reference.

What if I just plugged the weep hole. What would happen?

You're not fixing the problem of course.  What could happen is that leak is now internal, could force the water into the main bearing and cause damage by washing out grease/lubricant.  I'm not exactly sure what will happen but at some point I think this leak may show in another place which could make for a larger problem.  How much water are we talking?  I don't want to give you info like add another bilge pump or plug the leak cause you would just prolong the inevitable and put yourself in a potentially unsafe situation.

Think about this,
i just spent about $500 w/o impeller and a few other internals to freshen my energized YJ, I did the labor.  You are probably only looking at $50-$100 max in parts to fix your issue right now if you put in the labor.  I would consider the savings and take care of it before you have to replace many more parts.  Probably a one day deal if you had all the parts and tools on hand, then a few beers while you watched the silicone set up after installing back into your boat!

I bought the part should be in tomorrow.  I was just curious what might happen.  I have no problem taking it apart. I just hate pulling the motor.

Can you pull the pump without touching the motor?  Or are you thinking to leave the pump in place to pull the seal?

Got it!  Wish you luck, post up the process if you could?  I've never seen this done on a Golden Eagle so it could help other members in the future.

Still leaks.  Any other suggestions. Or a shop in San Diego that knows what to do?
