Dominator pump pros/cons

Whats everyone's opinion on the dominator pump? I've got my eye on a 75 omega 22 with a dominator pump and I don't have much knowledge when it comes to pumps. I currently have a jacuzzi pump and have had no issues, is the dominator a better pump?

Early Dominators have a smaller outlet diameter on the bowl than berk and a/t , etc. so finding droops, place diverters, and snoots might be an issue.

The bowl bushings are water lubed, and wear out quicker in sandy/silty water, than grease or oil lubed bushings.

Other than that, a good pump.

Take a look inside droop, if it looks like this, it kicks @$$. The early small outlet Dominator bowls are not worth investing in, but are easily swapped out. You can open up the outlet for noticeable increased performance, if you have the means to do that yourself. I just wouldn't recommend dumping money into something that a modern Dominator bowl will flat smoke.

The water lubricating bowl is not horrible. It can be upgraded to grease lubricating if you desire.

The early Dominator also uses an odd diameter shaft seal. This too is easily updated by boring the suction housing.

The castings are very heavy duty compared to a Berkeley
