can someone tell me what is the best way to remove one from the hull? i have to do it with the boat on the trailer for now. somewhere i herd to use heat and a floor jack but i'm not so sure about that. any tips would be great thanks

Yep...heat and a floorjack...
Get the fasteners out of the bottom (I have used a die grinder and a little Scotch Brite pad deal to get to the screws, then clean out the slot) and tie the hull down to the trailer (for the added weight) and put a jack and some blocks under the intake and lift it up a bit. Then you can use a little heat to get the epoxy to soften up. be careful with the heat.
My old boss used this method if the hull was junk; use a piece of plywood on the transom hole and to the top of the intake to make it hold water, take out the screws with a Cobalt drill, put two jack stand under the intake and lift the bow to put pressure under the intake, fill hull with water until the intake pops...Kapowwww! Sort of fun to watch. ;)
Primitive but effective ;)

I used flexable putty nife that i sharpened and cut it out with out doing damage to glass working all the way around took about three hours to get it to come loose not easy good luck bud :thumbup:

thanks GT, i wanted to see if anyone else has herd of that before i f it up. i got the screws out already and carfully chipped away some of the epoxy along the intake ( using a sharpend puddy knife ;) ) to help free it up and used the floor jack but it still wouldent budge. i will try the heat next

I believe you spelled it correctly, use Mozilla Firefox, built in spell check, got tired of asking my kids how to spell something and looking like a doof.... :thumbup:

i wasn't bitching about your spelling , i just thought it was interesting that i used exactly what you suggested. not to get off the topic but I'm guessing your a Honda guy, what do you ride?

My CR500 is about 26 years old. Still the best thing Honda ever made. 35 to75 in 3 seconds (on 1 wheel)
Enjoyed the hell out of the old VF700 Interceptor too though. Made for Ortega Highway :thumbup:

road two strokes in the late 70s and early 80s at sears point and willow springs when all it was pavement one building road R5 twins yamaha and then rd 400 just sold a 06 crf 450r just to old and fat anymore good old days :)

Thanks for this info. I'm getting to remove my Berkley 12JG and intake. I will be replacing it with a Dominator 12S and Dominator intake. I hope it's not a big deal to remove and install a new pump. :banghead:

i also removed my berk for a dominator. it took some time to remove the intake without trashing the glass, just be patient and it will come out.
