Does anyone know what kind of intake this is?
It's in my nephews Sanger, but doesn't have any markings that i can see. Figured someone would know by the way the casting looks.

Thats a Sanger Super Jet, from what I understand you will only find them with 12JG's and from what Jim Brock says the Sangers had there intakes custom made for the hulls. Meaning there is a small difference in them from a regular off the shelf 12JG Intake. He has one of the Sanger exact ones in the back room.

The Sanger intakes come up from the bottom I think :screwy:

I havent taken mine out because it didnt leak, It just has something different then the stock model but I cant for the life of me remember what.

It was a JG that came out. Are these intakes better than a stock Berkeley?
The scoop part of the intake is 6 3/8 long - Dominator is 5 7/8 - Berk 5 5/8 just happen to have all 3 the in the backyard. :screwy:
The angle of the intakes are all different. This one has a fall of 7/8" in 12" - Dominator is 3/4" in 12" - Berk is only 3/8" in 12".

Most of the Sanger intakes go in from the top like a normal everyday jet boat.
I don't think I have ever seen a Sanger with quarter stringers with a drop in (bottom insert) before, but I have maybe only seen a dozen or so Superjets up close enough to tell...
I'm not sure if the intakes were custom made for Sanger or if it just a different degree intake for the transom design....

Sanger intakes were/are indeed unique (called a "drop thru", Tony is correct) and I dont belive thats one , pretty sure thats the same or similar "after market intake" thats in Josh's boat and my Mach 1 Tunnel hull
(Sanger "Drop thru intake"
