I talked to a shop in havasu that says I can leave my jacuzzi grill housing in the boat and put(http://) a Berkley pump on it.He said there's a bit work to do this. Has anyone heard of or done this. Or should I do the full swap. The boat is a 74 Hondo I got for $1900.00

Which Jacuzzi pump do you have?
With a WJ pump, I would refresh the impeller and wear ring and run it. Not worth the trouble for very little (if any) gains. Save your money for gas and beer.
The YJ pump is a different story. I would have it energized by JBP. There is quite a bit of potential gains to be had.

It's a wj with a place diverter and a twisted shaft . The quotes I keep getting to fix it are $2000 and up and I'm not sure it's worth it especially if berks are all around better pumps
