Title: Jet pump Rudder
Post by: Mjthierman1 on August 21, 2017, 08:39:46 AM
Hey guys and girls, how important is the rudder on your jet to have I've been told that I'm putting my family and anybody who I put in my boat endanger because I don't have a Rudder and I always felt that it was unnecessary to have it it did very little. My boat is an 18' caliber 1.
I was told 19 ft and bigger and drop snoot you should have a rudder? Let me know what you all think. Thanks for any help

Some people think they help at low speed I've never been able to tell the difference

On some boats and especially bigger boats a drop can cause handling issues but the ruder would not help

Finally added a diverter to mine and in the process removed the rudder. The only difference is now the steering wheel wants to torque steer in my hands, but I'm not sure the rudder would fix this. Think it has more to do with diverter trim
