Hi guys, Looking at a rideplate and shoe, the guy says it's been on self a dozen years and he THINKS he remembers it was for a JG.
1)Anybody know how long ago they started with the JG?
2)If it is from a JG, will it fit my JC?
Thanks

Yes it should fit , JC and JG not sure how long they have been made.

Many thanks, that is what I was thinking but needed a 2nd opinion.

JC and JG are different bowls.
The ride plate itself had nothing to do with either since a true ride plate doesn't attach to the bowl.
Ride plates attach differently to bowls so I guess I'm clueless as to what the question is.

Depends on how it hooks up. Seen quite a few JC bowls drilled and tapped for the support for a ride plate, JG's typically attach at the nozzle bolts. Pics are everything here man. But if you change bowls, gonna have to rethink how to attach the ride plate, if THAT is your question.

I guess my question was more about the shoe, and while I remember that the JC/JG bowls will interchange, I just wasn't sure if the suction piece and intake were the same. I imagine I could obtain another shoe if that turns out to be a difference.

Yes, they are the same

Here is a install direction from Duane @ HTP. I installed the same on my JC pump(jc an jg pumps are the same)Its the intake that will work for what you have. The cradle you have is for a split bowl. Duane sells a JC bowl cradle which is the one being installed in the pics on a split bowl. You can also rid the washers and just get a solid piece of aluminum. This is his web and I am adding a pic of mine installed with side supports and powder coat. You want some good epoxy for the final when putting the shoe on for the last time to go between the intake/shoe and to smooth over the sides and entry ramp(sand before final). http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=14969&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=50218&subdeptNum=50219&classNum=50225#.Ues7ntKo8Yc (http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=14969&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=50218&subdeptNum=50219&classNum=50225#.Ues7ntKo8Yc)
