Can anyone help me identify this loader? It looks like it's been modified in a sketchy way. I'd like to try and figure out what it was originally so I can fix it and run it.

Get a new one!!!!
I've had them come apart at 90 mph!!! not pretty, I've broke 2 in 30 years, check them a lot for cracks with dye check Jet boat performance has a nice one

It's obviously old & rusted. If you wire wheel it clean you could get a better look at its condition, but better off spending the money for a new one. In my boat part world this was a pretty cheap part.
Here's the potential problem. There is no other part in your boat that if it breaks while at speed the damage done to the driver or passengers can be very serious. I'm not talking high speed either, imagine running 30 to 40 mph and your boat instantly slamming sideways and stopping. Everyone will be thrown hard in a random direction. Those of us that run at high speed really only fear 1 part breaking and this is the 1. I bought the best one I could find and it came from B1 Racing.

It's rusty and old. Loaders should be inspected frequently. If one breaks it can cause the boat to flip or sink. There is a HUGE amount of strain on loaders.

I guess I need to pull mine out and give it a once over this winter.
