Title: New Hallett jet boats?
Post by: hallett1974 on March 13, 2015, 04:13:21 PM
Does anyone know if Hallett still makes jet boats.  I know if you buy a new Eliminator you can still get a jet.  Its not like i'm going to buy an brand new boat i was just interested.  Thanks again.

I would assume that they could. They are a custom boat company. My buddy is the uncle of the two guys that run the company and the times I have talked to them, they can do just about anything you want.

Hallett is off the 605 freeway in Irwindale, pass by it damn near everyday. I'm starting to see more amd more molds show up all the time. That would be bad ass if someone got a new haller jet boat. I know kroggy called them when he was pricing out a new 21 open bow jet and they where around 70 or 75 grand.

Shockwave is still building 21' open bow jets. I talked to them at the boat show. They were saying about $45k give or take with a BBC.

At the LA boat show there were several jets... Didn't get too many pictures, but shockwave had a real nice deck.

I like the Chaparral the best out of the modern jet boats (like Yamaha, Scarab, etc...)I was talking to the engineer, he gave me some interesting facts. 250 horse supercharged motor with an axial pump. 43-45 mph top speed, downhill with the wind on your back. Closed cooling system. The wear ring in the jet is plastic. He told me that the impeller to wear ring is an interference fit when assembled. I asked if there is any way to disengage the jet for service? He said no. Then I asked how the shop can service/repair the engine without messing up the pump. He was quiet for a minute, then told me the jet is easy to remove. Didn't look easy. They want 45k for that boat. I'd take a Shockwave, Nordic with a Berkely or Agressor any day over that. Doesn't even compete.

Yeah came with everything I wanted (ride plate, set back jet, etc), but obviously I did have to pay a little bit more for some things I wanted, like upgraded motor. I was stoked because My buddy and I got to design every little thing on my boat (colors, interior design, gel coat design, etc) But Bob also did add some extras on the boat for me because i let him display it at the LA boat show last year. No regrets at all. I love my boat and the quality is amazing. Not sure what you kind of recommendations you are looking for, but just ask the questions!!! I sometimes wish I went with the supercharged motor I had an opportunity to get but can't complain now since I literally fill up every three trips with the motor I have in it. Motor does great and boat does around 60 mph
