Rudder for Berkley

I have a '78 Centurion with a Berkley Pump on it. There is no scag/rudder on bottom side of hull. Would a a rudder on the pump be necessary for handling purposes? Thanks for any input.

My centurion has a rudder on the jet and it does help

First off that boat is righteous!!!!!
Second, some say they help at low speed maneuvering. One can be picked up fairly cheap, so give it a shot if you're struggling at the ramp/dock

Thanks for the comment on the boat I really like it myself. Im not having much trouble at the ramp. But once while turning sharply in a smooth cove it spun around on me pretty quick.

Dang:( unfortunately I think you should sell it to me, I'll deal with the problem haha JK man.
If you are doing fine at the ramp, I wouldn't worry to much about it, just learn the sweet spot between throttle and fwd/reverse.

You need a turn fin, about under the balancer, or 40 to 48" in front of the transom.

Nice looking float.
