Title: panther pump???????
Post by: dustin on June 19, 2009, 08:52:48 PM
My buddy is looking at a boat with a panther drive in it. Are they any good, or not? I don't see them much any where, so I guess thats why I don't know much about them. Help us out!

Unless he can steal it for cheap, put down the crackpipe and walk away calmly   ;D

Have him call Tom at JBP... ;)

i have a panther on my boat. cant say anything bad about it. i would perfer a berk so that i can get a diverter and fun stuff like that. but i have never had a pump issue and i have a miniday that can run 57mph on my gps. and all in all that is not bad at all..

if you have any questions feel free to ask

Naw, Tony, Just funnin! The panther should be just fine for mild performance applications. These Energizer kits I've heard about make quite a bit of difference froim what I understand, but have no idea what they are, how they work, or if they are even worth the money.

It really matters what you ant to do with the boat in the water. If you want balls out performance, the Panther ain't gonna do it. But if you just wanna cruise around, ski and pull tubes with it, should be more than adequate.

Truth be told, you should be able to find  a Berk equipped boat in similar condition for a similar price. Look at Brad's Southwind, beautifull boat! and a Smokin deal!

Be patient, and watch the craig's list threads on here. I'm sitting here right now drinking beer trying to convince myself I don't need the 21.5 Sleek Glenn found! lol

Here's a video of a Energized Panther by JetBoatPerformance.  Just breaking in the new motor so haven't had a chance to lean on yet but so far I'm thrilled.
