Hey guys, had my boat looked at today as my pump was acting up over the weekend. Turns out my Panther is shot from the last owner’s “rebuild” on it. The shop recommended I do a panther to Berkeley conversion and not go with the Energizer kit. This is going to set me back more money I paid for the boat. How do I justify this? Will the boat be worth more money? What are your thoughts when making a decision like this?

There’s no justification unless there is some type of sentimental value to the boat. Sell the boat and pick one up with a Berkeley if thats the pump you want

Agreed, if there's a specific setup you really want sell the boat and go find it. If you like the boat I'd just rebuild what you got and enjoy it

After taking in everyone’s advice, I ended up opting for the Panther Xcelerator upgrade from JBP. The guys at Total Performance in Fort Mohave are doing the install. It sounds like a happy medium. I’m pretty excited to see the results. I’d love to hear anyone’s recent feed back on this kit. From the older posts I’ve seen it sounds like a solid upgrade for the money.
