I understand the concept of a place diverter( 4 way nozzle movement) and its supposed to adjust for better "plaining" out the hull but I haven't seen if people use a rideplate/shoe setup WITH a place diverter...

Ride plate, Back cut shoe, trimmed sport loader, Place diverter (electric), AA impeller, 'C' bowl...
I think its more 'normal' than the 'exception'.

Bolt on ride plate/shoe at 3* up. Rock grate, pre loader, A imp, stuffer 9 vane, snoot 4 degree pin, and diverter...

JMO but a diverter is a must have for any river boat. Makes plaining out much more easy and creates some lift.
The shoe and ride plate makes even more lift. More lift more speed :screwy: :thumbup: :thumbup:
I run a 4* backcut shoe, ride plate 4.5* up, Tunnel plates @ 3* up, B1 loader with the ramps cut 1 inch above keel, split bowl with all the fixens, racepreped Stainless b/c impeller and a inducer.

A diverter will also help with the launch as well as removing lake lice. On the launch, the diverter will point down to prevent the bow from rising excessively and doing a wheelie down the track. This also helps to get the stern up out of the water. After the initial hit, the diverter is raised to raise the bow and air out the hull, reducing drag. For a more race minded boat, you will want to limit diverter movement up and down with positive stops.
A shoe is used to fine tune pump inlet pressure and to some extent will either aid in adding lift, (backcut shoe) or will reduce the amount of lift (tapered shoe). What is actually producing the lift is the rideplate depth.
Basically all of it adds to the hardware configuration of your overall setup and ride.
