Title: Place diverter cable , where to put it

Well tomorrow i have to drill a hole through my transome and was just wanting to know where is the best location to put it? does it really matter..
If you have pics of it post it ;D

2 sav my OP is I like to run it above and parallel to the FW cable  Tom
