I have a jf Berkeley Any good ideas on how to get the silicone or whatever they use to seal the pump housing to the hall

And what is the best sealer to use to resell it back to the boat

Do you have the pump removed? Or is that the question?
At the factory, all JE and JF pumps were installed to the insert using 3M 5200 Marine Sealant.
The stuff is silly strong, as far as I know there is no chemical way to remove it. Just mechanical. A very sharp razor blade is your friend.

If it is 3M 5200 - removal: mechanical removal, clean-up: mineral spirits or kerosene.

Anything that is 100% silicone.

Well honestly, I like the adhesive properties and durability of the 5200.
It's incredibly strong and makes the bond between the insert and the pump pretty much bulletproof.
It's just a mofo to remove.

Are you wanting to rebuild it? If the suction housing isn't damaged, rebuild it in the boat.

Pulling the engine is the lesser of the two evils IMO.
Those pumps were never designed to be removed.

Use one of those blades that as it dulls, u break off the dull section and click up to the sharp section. Extend it out where its a long enough to get it into the silicone and just keep slicing around and around. It takes a long time. Patience.

I would try a Fein tool or the like with a good blade attachment. These things have gotten me out of serious jams and will cut almost anything with the right attachment.

The best way to get it out is used in acetylene torch to heat it until the epoxy softens and the bond yields. As bitchin as I think those tools are, you will never get it out.
Your best bet, if the suction housing is not damaged, pull the engine and rebuild the pump inside the boat.
If you do get it out, you are going to have hours of grinding on both the hull and the pump and ir will take a ton of epoxy to put it back in. The epoxy alone will cost you over $100.
